The SOA Group
SOA and its sister company WA Sandalwood Plantations is the preeminent group for investment into plantation grown Australian sandalwood and related value add products.
WA Sandalwood Plantations, the worlds’ largest manager of Australian sandalwood plantations, owns and manages over 19 million trees grown on 13,000 hectares across the central wheatbelt of Western Australia where sandalwood has naturally occurred for thousands of years.
These plantations are fully certified through the Responsible Wood Certification Scheme and it is from this resource that SOA sources sandalwood nuts, providing clients with a reliable and sustainable supply of Sanotyal. ®
Sanoytal® - The Soul of Sandalwood
Evidence suggests that the aboriginal people of Western Australia have used the seeds of the Western Australian sandalwood tree as an important part of their traditional medicine for tens of thousands of years, far beyond even the ancient traditional use of sandalwood in the Vedic culture of south Asia. Only recently however have sustainable supplies of sandalwood nuts become available due to the reestablishment of the trees in their native habitat in Western Australia. SOA has developed an entirely natural and chemical free process to extract this precious oil and to provide it for use as an ingredient by the world’s finest producers of skin and beauty products.
The nuts of s. spicatum in particular have a long traditional history as a medicinal food, being used to this day by the aboriginal and now some western inhabitants of Western Australia for relief from symptoms associated with Rheumatoid Arthritis, a disease hallmarked by uncontrolled inflammatory processes in the body.
These factors combined with the supporting evidence of efficacy and the sustainability of supply derived from plantations of s. spicatum has made the commercialisation of the nut oil a viable possibility.
